Tips for Bakery Style Muffins
I absolutely LOVE baking muffins. I keep them in my glass cake stand so anyone can walk by and grab one. These tips for bakery style muffins elevate your favorite muffin recipe to something impressive and professional! Try implementing these tips the next time you make muffins at home.
How to Make Bakery Style Muffins at Home
- Fill each spot up with muffin batter. You can’t get an impressive muffin without enough batter. This is the first, and most essential tip for making bakery style muffins at home.
- Leave one spot empty and fill a quarter the way full with water. The water creates steam and the steam helps the muffins rise.
- Preheat your oven to 425°. Bake your muffins at 425°for 5 minutes. Drop your oven temperature to 375°and bake the rest of the way at this temperature. DO NOT OPEN YOUR OVEN between these temperature changes. You have created steam with the water and the high oven temperature, you don’t want to release that steam by opening the oven door.
- You can also throw an ice cube in the bottom of your hot oven when you first put the muffins in. I don’t usually do this but you can if your oven allows such a thing. The water in the empty stop trick usually works for me.
- I like to sprinkle turbinado sugar on top of my muffins before I bake them. The sugar crystals on top of your finished muffin is so pretty and professional looking. I think it elevates your muffin even further.
