Homemade Chocolate Sauce
This homemade chocolate sauce is PERFECT for making chocolate milk! I’ve also used it to drizzle over muffins and homemade kettle corn!
How to Make Homemade Chocolate Sauce
First, you’ll want to combine your sugar, salt, and water in a small saucepan.
Bring this to a gentle boil over medium/high heat. Be sure to stir it constantly so it does not boil over or scorch on the bottom. Always be cautious when working with sugar on the stove!
Once boiling, stir in your cocoa powder. Break up any lumps as you stir.
Remove from heat and add your chocolate and vanilla. Mix well. The heat will melt your chocolate and you should end up with a smooth chocolate sauce.
Transfer to your storage container. I keep mine in a half pint mason jar. It perfectly holds the amount of chocolate sauce this recipe makes. I store mine in the fridge, which causes the chocolate sauce to thicken quite a bit. However, I find it still mixes into milk very well when making chocolate milk.
